Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of NoorQuran (thenoorquran.com and its sub-portals). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
What we provide
NoorQuran is an online platform connecting Muslim families with verified Quran scholars for one-to-one classes. We provide the platform — the technology, the safeguarding wrapper, the support team. The scholar provides the teaching.
For parents
- Trial classes: up to 3 free trial classes per family (one per scholar). No card needed to book a trial.
- Subscriptions: billed monthly via Stripe. Cancel any time from your portal — cancellation is immediate.
- Refunds: if a scholar cancels a class with less than 24 hours’ notice, the class is fully refunded or credited.
- Cancellations by parent: classes cancelled with more than 48 hours’ notice are fully refunded. Less than 48 hours’ notice may incur the standard rate.
- Conduct: respectful communication is expected. Abusive behaviour towards scholars or staff results in immediate account closure.
- Children’s safety: classes are screened for safeguarding signals. You agree to monitor your child’s classes appropriately.
For scholars
- No off-platform teaching: for 12 months after leaving NoorQuran, you may not teach NoorQuran families outside the platform.
- Quality standards: punctuality, post-class notes within 60 minutes, respectful conduct.
- Strikes: issued for late cancellations, no-shows, late notes, contact-sharing. Five active strikes triggers an admin conversation.
- Payouts: 70% of teaching time. Paid by the 5th of each month for the previous month.
- Content: any teaching content created on the platform is jointly owned. You can’t reuse a class report on another platform.
Pricing & payments
Prices are displayed in GBP per class on the pricing page and in your portal. We may change pricing for new bookings with 30 days’ notice; existing subscriptions are honoured at the current rate until the next renewal.
The 70/20/10 split is core to NoorQuran’s business model: scholars receive 70% of teaching time, NoorQuran retains 20%, and 10% is allocated to the scholarship fund supporting families who can’t afford full price.
Limitation of liability
NoorQuran’s total liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the fees paid by you in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Termination
You can close your account any time from your portal. We may suspend or close accounts in cases of safeguarding concerns, payment failures, or repeated terms violations.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email. Continued use of the platform after a change constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
