Cancellation & Billing Policy
Per-Class Billing

NoorQuran bills per class — you are charged only for sessions that take place. Cancel any individual class 12 or more hours in advance and you will not be charged. Reschedule at any time for free, up to 2 reschedules per child per week. Cancel your subscription from your portal at any time — effective at the end of your current billing period, with no exit fees. Hifz Intensive requires a 1-month minimum commitment to protect memorisation continuity. If you paid but never attended a class, a full cash refund is available within 14 days. All invoices are itemised per class in your parent portal. Monthly billing occurs on the 1st of each month for the previous month’s classes.

NoorQuran complies with UK GDPR and the Age Appropriate Design Code (AADC). We collect only the data necessary to provide the educational service. Children’s data is used solely for teaching and progress tracking — never for marketing. Sessions are not recorded by default; parents control recording through their portal. All communication between parents and scholars occurs within the NoorQuran portal, where messages are monitored for safeguarding. You may request deletion of all your data at any time, processed within 30 days. Payment data is processed by Stripe — we never store card details.
Scholar Quality Standards
Strict Accountability

Every NoorQuran scholar is held to published quality standards. Scholars must maintain a minimum 4.5 average rating, below 5% cancellation rate, and submit post-class session notes within 1 hour for 90%+ of sessions. Scholars who consistently exceed these standards receive rate increases every 6 months. Two scholar no-shows result in immediate suspension. Any safeguarding violation or attempt to solicit students off-platform results in permanent removal. Each scholar teaches a maximum of 10 students to ensure every child receives genuine personal attention.

Every session on NoorQuran is observable live by parents at any time. Parents can join any session without prior notice. All teachers undergo background checks appropriate to their jurisdiction (DBS for UK, police clearance for Pakistan, equivalent internationally). A designated Safeguarding Lead reviews all concerns within 24 hours. Any safeguarding breach results in immediate suspension and investigation — no exceptions. Shariah-Aligned Gender Allocation Policy

By default, female students are allocated female teachers and male students (aged 10+) are allocated male teachers. Boys under 10 may be taught by female teachers, consistent with scholarly consensus. This policy is endorsed by our Scholar Advisory Council. Families may adjust their preference through their account settings. All cross-gender sessions (where a family explicitly requests an exception) require active parent observation access. Parents can also request recordings of any session. This is not merely a policy preference — it is the operational default of the platform.
Teacher Verification & Certification Process

Step 1: Institutional referral required — teachers cannot self-register. Step 2: Formal qualification verification — Hafiz, Qari, Alim, Alimah, or Mufti level. Step 3: Background check appropriate to jurisdiction. Step 4: Live interview and trial teaching session observed by our Quality team. Step 5: NoorQuran Certification Programme — covering online pedagogy, parent communication protocols, safeguarding training, and platform operations. Only certified teachers appear to families. In addition, all active teachers attend mandatory weekly pedagogical training sessions.
Live Observation & Parent Observation Policy

Parents have the unconditional right to join any session live, without prior notice to the teacher. This right cannot be restricted or waived by any teacher under any circumstances. Parents may also request a recording of any specific session by toggling the recording option in their portal before the session starts. Requested recordings are available in the parent dashboard for 14 days. Sessions are not recorded by default — this protects your child’s data while giving you full visibility through live observation and on-demand recording. The NoorQuran Quality team may record sessions as part of quality assurance and safeguarding reviews. Teachers are made aware of all observation and recording policies as part of their certification.
Rematch & Refund Policy
No-Questions Policy

Families may request a new teacher match at any time — at no cost and with no questions asked. The rematch is arranged within 24–48 hours. If a satisfactory match cannot be found within 3 attempts, a full refund for the current billing period is issued. The free trial period (first 30-minute session) carries no charge regardless of outcome. There is no penalty for cancellation at any point. Subscriptions cancelled mid-month are refunded on a pro-rata basis.
Scholar Advisory Council Oversight

NoorQuran operates under the oversight of a Scholar Advisory Council comprising senior scholars from partner institutions across partner institutions. The Council reviews and approves curriculum standards, quality benchmarks, the gender allocation policy, safeguarding policy, and any proposed introduction of technology tools (including AI). The Council meets quarterly. Annual review of all policies is mandatory. Any policy change requires Council endorsement before implementation.
Scholarship Integrity Policy

10% of all revenue is automatically directed to the scholarship fund. Scholarship students receive identical teaching, identical reports, identical safeguarding, and identical quality standards — there is no visible distinction from paid enrolments. Scholarship eligibility is determined through a community endorsement process. Quarterly impact reports are produced for sponsors and major donors. The scholarship fund is Zakat-eligible (confirmed by our Scholar Advisory Council) under scholarly guidance from our Scholar Advisory Council — confirmation available on request.
Complaints & Escalation Process

All complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours. Safeguarding concerns are escalated immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead and, where appropriate, statutory authorities. Quality or teaching complaints are reviewed within 5 working days with a written response. Unresolved complaints may be escalated to the Scholar Advisory Council. Teacher Verification Summary

Step 1: Institutional referral required. No self-signup. Institution takes shared responsibility.
Step 2: Qualification verification — certificates, Sanad, and institutional confirmation checked directly.
Step 3: Background check. DBS (UK), police clearance (Pakistan), or equivalent.
Step 4: Live 40-minute interview and recitation assessment with senior NoorQuran scholar.
Step 5: NoorQuran certification and weekly mandatory CPD. Quarterly quality review.

Gender Allocation Policy
Shariah basis, implementation, and adjustment procedure for gender-matched teacher allocation.
Default: Female teachers for female students and boys under 10. Male teachers for boys 10+ and men.
Policy endorsed by the Scholar Advisory Council following classical Islamic scholarly review.
Families may request adjustments through their account. All requests accommodated where scholars available.
Parents have live observation access regardless of gender configuration — non-negotiable safeguarding measure.

No recording shared with third parties without explicit written consent from the parent.
Student personal data held per UK GDPR. Never sold, shared commercially, or used for advertising.
